Since beginning her presidential campaign, Harris has raised $540 million
Democratic candidate Kamala Harris has
amassed $540 million in just over a month since launching her presidential
campaign, largely fueled by a wave of donations during the Democratic National
Convention, her campaign announced on Sunday.
In a memo shared by campaign manager Jen O'Malley Dillon, it was revealed that $82 million of the total came in during the convention week, signaling strong Democratic support for Harris's bid.
“This marks a record fundraising achievement for any presidential campaign within this timeframe,” Dillon stated.
Harris officially entered the presidential race on July 21, following President Joe Biden's decision to step aside amid concerns about his mental sharpness after a debate with Republican Donald Trump in late June.
This week, Harris and her vice-presidential
pick, Tim Walz, are embarking on a bus tour across Georgia, aiming to rally
voters in the key battleground state ahead of the Nov. 5 election.
