Nearly 55,000 Model X SUVs are recalled by Tesla due to a brake fluid detection problem.
For the manufacturer of electric vehicles, Tesla, the year has been largely drama-free in terms of significant recalls. However, the manufacturer has just issued a recall for around 55,000 Model X SUVs due to a flaw that may make it impossible for the car to detect low braking fluid.
Model X SUVs from 2021 to 2023 are among the affected cars. The problem is with a controller in the vehicle that could not tell when the brake fluid level is low, which might affect how well the brakes work and raise the possibility of a collision.
Tesla has provided an over-the-air software update to fix the problem. Owners will start receiving notices from the automaker on December 12. Still, those with additional inquiries can contact Tesla at 877-798-3752 (Tesla's number for this recall is SB-23-00-005), the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236, or the agency's website to find out more.
